The Graph has added support for Polkadot, NEAR, Solana, and Celo in the near future

The worldwide open API network is expanding to include additional blockchains of the tier 1. The Graph today announced it would support Polkadot, NEAR, Solana and Celo after the mainnet deployment on Ethereum in mid-December of 2020.

As stated, the Graph is a protocol enabling the compilation, query, and indexation of blockchain data by programmers of Application Programming Interfaces. It gives the infrastructure to access on-line data from different blockchains and is considered an open alternative to existing blockchain analysis tools to enable cooperation and interoperability throughout the decentralized Web.

Eva Beylin, the managing director of The Graph Foundation, has emphasized the necessity to strive for Web 3.0. As the foundation emphasizes, developers do not require a subgraph to have expert knowledge on the many distinct and diverse features of the many blockchains, for example their underlying intelligent contract language.

The chart supports the Ethereum, IPFS and POA chain blockchains and supports the InterPlanetary File System, which is a peer to pair data storage and sharing network. Many of the current subscriptions are being implemented on Web 3.0, including Uniswap, AAVE, Decentraland and Synthetix by developers of popular decentralized apps, in all around 7,000.

Now the integration of Polkadot, NEAR, Solana and Celo, the graph aimed also at expanding support to Bitcoin, Cosmos, Avalanche, Binance, Flow and others. The graphic network and its native token, Graph Token (GRT), will continue to be the default, and developers will be given ERC-20 token when users request their subgraph.

The foundation intends to cover all layers 1 in the block chain ultimately and to develop into a widely-adopted index and query solution for the whole decentralized internet. Beylin stated that:

"To ensure that all developers construct decentralized apps effectively and speed up Web3 adoption we believe in supporting several chains. Developers may select which chain best matches their needs and assist current developers from Ethereum construct interoperable apps."
